Cows

This just made me think of "The Meaning Of Liff", which defines a "Sheppey" thus:

Sheppey (n.) "Measure of distance (equal to approximately seven eighths of a mile), defined as the closest distance at which sheep remain picturesque."

Jon.
I thought Sheppey was an island - cut off from the mainland in a time warp :mask::mask::mask::mask:

I thought that was the Isle of Wight, isn't it....?

For anyone unfamiliar with it, "The Meaning of Liff" (co-authored by the late great Douglas Adams) is a book that takes many British town, village and place names and assigns spurious but very funny definitions to them, in order to create words for things that currently have no word but really ought to - another favourite of mine is "Throcking", which describes the action of forcefully wiggling the handle of the toaster in an attempt to release a jammed slice of toast...... :D

How about "Kit Bashing", and "Scratch Building"...often frowned on by collectors...but considered "Creative" by others.
There just has to be a comical name for those caught using LGB "Red Boxes", as "Kindling" for starting a fire...!!
Many's the fire I've started, in the old shop, on a cold January morning, with a red box...!!

I though I was kicking the bucket ..nope ... just the toaster.. I dropped it as I was walking.. sort of like falling up the stairs ...

Now for something completely different.......

Due to the distance and exchange rates lots of items offered for sale on this site, whilst very tempting, have to go ‘unbought’! I have purchased items from Grootspoor, Only Trains and evilbay but you have to weigh up the additional costs and your needs every time.

The Australian G1 scene is reasonably well served by a small number of merchants but items can be expensive or unavailable hence the overseas purchases.

I would like to recommend one shop in NSW however [Pamak Hobbies]; the proprietor Kevin King being friendly and knowledgeable plus he does a nice run in second hand items as well.

No connection other than as a satisfied customer, [both buying and selling] if you are interested go to this site and at least have a look at the items on offer... Pre-Loved

Bargains are to be had but make your own mind up re prices please. The field loco [new] and the last 3 cars [used] in the attached picture were purchased from Kevin as an example.

Carry on rewardless!
