Well here we go again,

I have a Crocodile with sound that works when its put on the track but only runs for a short while then shuts down, its as if the #8 button has been pressed to shut all sound off.
I have tried the on/off #8 button in case I had pressed it but still no luck...nothing at all...not even the lights via #9 button either !!.
I have checked the switches in the cab but they are ok...I had it on a short track and it came off the end..ooops...no damage as track was on the floor, but could this have dislodged something inside ?

The loco goes in both directions ok, its just the sound that shuts itself off, anybody got any ideas please

Thankyou steve

Now this one sounds (no pun intended!) a little more odd than your Meyer.....
Do you know if it is a factory-sound-equipped loco, or if the sound has been added later?

Jon.

Hi, As far as im aware this is as supplied from LGB..box # 27402..it was working fine untill came off the end of the track...yes I know I was a bit slow to stop it !!

From the number, yes, that's a factory-fitted-sound and MTS one. If the sound had simply stopped working altogether, I would have guessed that a plug had been jarred loose, though that would have been surprising - in my experience LGB plugs and sockets are usually pretty firm connections. But the fact that you say each time it works for a while and then cuts out, that one's beyond me..... how long does it work OK for, are we talking just seconds, or minutes each time?

Agree with ZedGee that you've probably got a loose connection somewhere?

Might just need a reseat of all electrikal konnections....

Hi all,

In answer to length of time the sound works for...its about 15-20 seconds then shuts off !!
It looks as if I will have to take it apart and look for the loose conections..many thanks to all of your help

Regards steve

Hi, I have taken the roof of the loco only to find all the connections are ok,
Its as if the loco is going through the shut down mode..in doing so you can still get the other sounds to work..could it be that the chip needs resetting ???..would it be possible that when the loco came off the track ,onto the carpet that a short occured ??
many thanks
