D&RGW OY Ready For Action

We have had a light covering of snow which turned rapidly to sleet and now rain.

Just been out to check my track for the possible photo opportunities of rotary and also ski train with SD70 leading. Three continuity breaks!!!:wits::wits:
Fixed those and everything fine except for me.....I f-f-f-feel l-l-l-like a b-b-b-block of iiiiiice.
Sky has gone very dark but still no sign of snow......looks like I will have to wait until tomorrow. Maybe a night shot.....

Just got back in the warm it's bl**dy freezing out there :nail:
Well it didn't go as well as i thought due to the snow turning to ice was left with only one Annie loco to push after the plastic valve gear on the second loco froze and broke :wits:
The loco found it very hard to push in the freezing snow that was falling at the time on the up side the plow did push some snow out and clear some of the line that was until the tiny grub screw that holds the fan blades worked loose and flew off the blades which was caught on camera :crying:
It was then time to give up every thing was frozen solid now de frosting in the garage :nail:

it looked good - in the famous words of our real rail operators- wrong kind of snow!

Yeah, you can't be too careful - I struggled with the wrong kind of snow a couple of years back :thumbdown:

Thanks guys will up load the small video i have when i get some time.
Might have to look at your idea Mike and add some motor blokes to the plow's tenders like you have done with your stock cars .

Hey Richie be careful with those motor blokes.....can't be trusted ;);)

It would be a great idea! Just make sure that there is plenty of weight (the little Aristocraft blocks that I used were nice and heavy as they have die-cast cases.

Love that impellor

Its running the wrong way, if you reverse it, it should tend to suck snow in.

It was looking so good Richie but at least it just 'popped' forward and didn't take some of the surround with it!
I reckon you need a three point fixing for the blade so that the single bolt does take the strain on its own.
