My Davenport gas shunter has had a bit of a doing over.
This is how it was

I've removed the circuit board and filled the whole engine compartment with 10 aaa batteries plus a Cliff Barker radio control receiver.
Outside I've given her a nice coat of maroon paint and added lots of bits from the Backwoods kit, although I have not added the side skirts which I decided I didn't want. I'm quite happy with the result, although a few bits still need to be done. the cab isn't fully screwed down, the lamp is not properly attached and I might just paint all of the handrails yellow to match the ones on the front. Had her running with the three wagons for well over three hours yesterday and she is still has some battery power left.

looks miles better chris:thumbup::thumbup:

I think that little loco loks great Chris; some lengthy running time as well.
I see your RR is an 'equal opporunity employer - unless the engineer has long hair. :bigsmile:
Sometime this year I would like to convert one of my Aristo Center Cabs to battery. The loco seems an ideal candidate.

The rather under scale lady was only keeping the seat warm and has been replaced by a much bigger male engineer. The dog is still sitting there watching the world go by.

I don't think I will move over to battery in a big way but it is the best form of power for a loco with only four wheels. Its also good when running analogue track power to have one loco which runs independently.

Nice work Chris :thumbup:

Those Backwoods part are just great. I am working on one of those Davenports as well. There is plenty of room for batteries / RC in the hood, once your rip the electronics out.
