Dutch guy

Don't want to hi jack this thread, but I spend the whole winter inside the house to help my wife as much as possible. So not much time for the trains unfortunately. Physically all is Ok but mentally she still has a long road in front of her.

Sorry to hear that, Henri, all best wishes for the future.... and it's good to have you back here again.

Jon.

Hello Jasper! I'll be sure to look up Rabbit Hill Tramways later today when I return to the local Beechworth Library (Victoria, Australia). I don't model in G scale, but in a NZ scale of 9 mm per ft (308.4mm ?).

I've just taken some photos of my rolling stock. Now I must figure out how to upload them.

To be continued....

Tadaa! My story:

Long ago, in another millennium, when my hair wasn't grey....

I started to model in G Scale. But everything was so expensive! So I chose to buy only the rails, and build all rolling stock myself.

This is my first attempt, made of plywood. As I have no layout, you see my living room.

It has sliding doors, which I remember being very proud of. After all these years, they still slide flawlessly.

Then I met my wife and started a family. Fast forward twenty years.

My first loco is now nearly finished. Working headlights. It has a Playmobil motor, so the pantograph is dummy. (But my next project is a tram that will have a functional panto.)
