Ebay problems

Option B might be sending them a google Earth picture of their house (assuming you kept a record of their address) and saying that you are coming around to discuss the matter face to face, most people do not consider that this may happen as the internet distances folk from the reality of their situation. Also state that you will contacting the local police prior to taking this action as you suspect fraud has taken place. Tell them you will wait 3 days for their response . Then you have the option of following this up or not, at least you will know your possible fraudster is cra**ing themselves. Because a transaction occured on ebay does not negate the law. I Think :rolf:

In Australia that is true. Some time back I bought an electrical item that was sposed to be "certified" to the Australian rules, it had the wrong plug on it, I propmtly complained and was sent an adaptor. Then suspicions arroused I checked and this did not have Australian certification at all and had it started a fire my insurance would have wiped me.... To cut a long story short I went to the Fair trading and Standards people and the problem was fixed pronto... I don't know about overseas but in Australia there is a note pops up about your consumer rights, and basically, you cannot sign away your rights simply because the item was bought on eBay....
This link is a good start for anyone in Australia with "consumer" issues; http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1023610#toc10 < Link To http://www.accc.gov.au/co...l/itemId/1023610#toc10

I was sent a http://abb.activeboard.com/t52563565/ebay-woes/?page=1 < Link To survey about how satisfied I was with the complaint resolution service........ I responded with a remark to the effect that things would be much improved if the people I spoke too could both speak and understand English.... Got a call today from a bloke who spoke impeccable gibberish... "is that Mr Treeeeevour Watson I am Gupta I am here to be resolving all your problems, can you be please explaining all the problems you are having so that I can fix them" "well I would but I cant understand you" "I am being so sorry but it is vital that you please be telling me all your problems" "Well Ok, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOU, the price of fuel is to high, I don't like the way some people are jumping the Queue to come here, the Prime minister has little credibility....." No no no can you please be explaining all your other problems" Well some of them are personal and I don't feel cumfortable discussing them with someone I can't understand" "Ok lets start again".... " Look can you just close my eBay account, I don't want it, I don't like it, I want out" "I'm sorry Mr Treeevour Watson I cannot be closing your account because you have .43 credit" Look just take the 43 lousy cents and PLEASE CLOSE MY ACCOUNT!!!" I'm so sorry Mr Treeeeeevour watson you will be having to wait 30 days after we are refunding you your outstanding balance" " Does that be solving your problems?" NO I WANT OUT NOW YOU STUPID LITTLE MAN!!! " click"

I must have had nothing to do.... its too hot outside to work on the tramway so this gave me some light relief...

Over Here in the UK, I have never had a problem with speaking by telephone to either eBay or Paypal, I beleive that they are however located in the UK, .

Incidentally a couple of years back I had a problem where a buyer claimed that insuficient postage had been applied to his item ( although it was posted over the post office counter so it should have been correct) I think the additional amount he had to pay was just UK£1.09!.
I sent him the amount but he still left me negative feedback, I phoned eBay ... they got the feedback removed AND they gave me a UK£20.00 credit against further purchases

Ebay bunged me some cash a few years ago after a problem too. I feel safer selling in the trains category than in others though... especially compared with die-cast and video games that said I've still had items that are not as good as described
