Excavator needed for Thomas and friends next adventure.

I need to buy a remote control excavator to feature in my next Thomas film.
Does anyone know roughly what scale the Bachmann Thomas products are?
Should I be looking for items in the 1:24 or 1:32 range? What do you think would look best? I've found some nice models in the 1:20 range, but I think they might look a little large.
Or can anyone recommend a particular product that would look okay alongside Thomas?
Thanks in anticipation,
Keith

Though to 45mm track I (and many others in Gauge 3) find the Thomas stuff works well for Gauge 3 which is 1:22.6 as near as makes no odds.

They also had these.

Both are German brand and available elsewhere but at a higher price.

Can you hear that noise? It's the sound of me kicking myself for not getting them!

Have you looked at Temu that keeps popping up here on adds, there were some diggers the other day that looked very good at just under £50.

I think Temu may be a seller to avoid, there have been some iffy reports about it.
I have bought from Temu, and though it comes from "off shore", and therefore takes time to arrive, I have had no issues.

I have one of these Hui Na front loaders from Redfin models in Baldock.

It is 1:24 scale....

I have a Diecast Masters DM25001:

Diecast Masters DM25001 - CAT 336 Hydraulic Excavator 2.4 GHz Radio Control

Here it is breaking ground in the garden:

Loading ballast into wagons on the 2022 summer railway:

Looks like they are now discontinued - I paid around £65 in 2020.

I would be happy to loan it for a video if that helps :)
Now that really does look like the business! 1:24 scale models are now quite rare, it seems.
I'm looking at a 1:20 scale model at the moment. If a choose my camera angles carefully, it may not look too out of scale, and it's only a Thomas video anyway!
I'm not going to film anything until the ground has dried up, which is going to take some time.
Depending on how I get on, I may very well take up your kind offer.
Thanks.
Keith

PS Your railway looks great too. :grinning:

There was a RC excavator in the middle of Lidl, yesterday..

PhilP
I checked my local Lidl and there were no RC excavators. ☹️
I ordered what was advertised as a 1:20 scale excavator from Amazon. When it arrived, although it had 1:20 printed on the box, it was more like 1:40.
It was also missing the rechargeable battery! It's now wending its way back to Amazon for a refund.
Still looking.

Get one of the Huyina's from Howes, I posted. They say they are 1:14, they atr more like 1:20. Max

Edit, quick vid. Loco is 1:19 Upnor Castle (about TTE size). Person, Jon's 1:19. Huina crane, same basic unit/crawler/superstructure available as digger or log grabber, just different accessory fitted. You can turn the noise off. Battery/charger included. Plastic construction. Moves back/forward, turns, cab rotates on chassis, raises/articulates digger arm at 2 points and digger bucket. Great value and looks the business. Yes, you can get these Huina models with die cast parts but the price goes up a lot. Hope this helps
