Wow, 1Km track, eh? That's almost 0.74 of a mile, the kind of distance measurement in common use here in UK, right?

I wasn't aware that the Yankee mile was any shorter than our's? Only their gallon.

One Kilometer is 5/8 of a mile or 0.625. I suppose you could stretch that to almost 0.74. on a hot day.
