Hello From A Land Down Under

Gidday Alan, from the East Coast - across the ditch.

Hi Alan welcome I have a 00 as well as G but nearly over it now! Do not mention the Rugby.

Alan,

Welcome. I am also in Adelaide. I have an email list of local G scalers to whom I send garden railway newsletters, etc. Are you already on my list? If not then email me at pjlucas@bigpond.com.

Welcome Alan, I'm also retired to Adelaide after 40 years in the ADF; regrettably, though, I can't take port any more, it doesn't agree with my digestion.

As I did, I'm sure you'll find both inspiration and help on this forum; if you I can help with anything local PM me, or as it is now called, start a conversation with me (the thingy with the arrow in the upper right hand bit of the screen). I'm a mod - hobson's choice, nobody else in Oz volunteered when Paul put out a call about 9 months ago- so I'm normally on the forum every day.

In my thoroughly biased view what makes this forum stand out is the civility and humour which the members exhibit, very unlike some others one could name where both those characteristics are missing!

Steve

Hello Peter,
A James Bond fan I see,
I spoke to Mr Walsham last week in regards to his Radio control systems and he mentioned you.
You are on my list to contact and glad you are here so will make things even easier.

Welcome Alan.
I am not in Adelaide but rather Casino, in the NSW Northern Rivers area.

Hi Tony,
Spoke to you last week in regards to your Radio Control Systems and you are a godsend.
Will go into this later on when I start to get things sorted better here.

Best regards

Oh and Peter (Moonraker)
I'm not on your list as yet so will send and email shortly.

Thanks Steve,

Will keep your offer in mind,

40 years in the ADF, long time hey, but well worth the heart aches and I have no regrets.

I to have had issues with 2 particular OO Gauge forums, one you had to be a computer expert and was expected to be and the other unless you had a degree or 3 in OO Gauge model Railways you were frowned apon..

Alan,

We are putting on a G Scale display at the Milang Railway Day on Sunday, 1st November, 11pm to 4pm. A number of 3D printed locos will be running. I am busy finishing a G scale, Brill 55 railcar for the event.

PS. The Moonraker refers to my Wiltshire, UK birthplace, James Bond came much later. As a result of an old legend, people from Wiltshire are called moonrakers.

Tony,

It is a 1:22.5 scratch build of the Brill 55 on 3' 6" bogies. I constructed the bodywork from polycarbonate and styrene. Power bogie is USA trains and virtually everything else is 3D printed. Radio control is yours plus a MyLocoSound soundcard.
