Hello from Australia

Welcome, you have plenty of fun times ahead. Ii hope it gives your partner some pleasure too, IMO any garden is improved by having a railway running through it! :-)

you didn't mention, in which age group you are.
but let me be direct: sooner or later comes the time, when getting down on your knees may be no problem - only the getting up again will be.

if you can touch the rails, without bending down, you will get about five more years, to enjoy your trains.

building hip-high track, will be more expensive and more work right now, it will impact the look of your garden, but...

Looks like an LGB Catalogue, but then that is what a shop would have. Great selection, those Railcars are great runners and the big Green Mallett is another object of desire. Smashing.

Must admit I hanker after one of those sets with a Mallet, and a couple of coaches in. ;)
Still can't decide whether I would go brown, or blue, though?:(

To OP..
Did you get any track, and something to control / power this lot?

In the pictures there looked to be a couple of smaller LGB Control Boxes. Wonder if he will luck out and find a Jumbo or two?

Welcome, you lucky thing! I hope you've a good wet suit as that's not the deep end, it's more of the Marianas Trench!

Welcome!
You have a casche of lgb from its golden age, some of my favorites.

Now......
Its time to envision a layout and lay track....the harder part of the train hobby.

Welcome to the forum cobber....

Hello ( G'day ) from Victoria, Australia

I have just become the owner of the LGB / Pola stock from a shop that closed in the late 1980's

What better way is there to get into a hobby than "dive in the deep end" ... there was quite a lot ! ( see pic )

I am looking forward to setting up track at my partners place ( she has MS and loves her garden ) as well as my own place.

More to come as I wade through my boxes ... ( p.s. the rest of the stash was put in my stationwagon )
There is a Santa Claus

Welcome to the diversity of this site!
