Yikes, well that makes me feel fortunate that our Izzy (chocolate Lab) is only obstinate!

If there's ever a case of having 240V on your rails, I think I've just seen it
I thought elephants could step on the track without damaging it.My dogs don’t do the railway any harm, it’s the deer that step and bend the track .
they can - if they are barefoot and if under the track is some hard surface.I thought elephants could step on the track without damaging it.
That's a relief. I was thinking I might need to supplement my "dear" and goat fence with an elephant fence.they can - if they are barefoot and if under the track is some hard surface.
but deer and cattle don't take off their shoes.
Respect!BRIXMIS for me...

I will pass your comment re plantings to our chief horticulturist! That”ll make her day as she is deeply committed to her craft.Welcome to the Forum! That looks to be a lovely line, with some sympathetic planting.
There's a world of difference between a garden railway, and a garden with a railway running through it. I'm a big fan of the latter!I will pass your comment re plantings to our chief horticulturist! That”ll make her day as she is deeply committed to her craft.
don't be afraid, Sir. that cost woun't be necessary.I was thinking I might need to supplement my "dear" and goat fence with an elephant fence.
Welcome,l am in Massachusetts also and live 1 mile from Sean. Can not get much closer than that to a fellow G scaller. We both do American DC track power, however I also flip a switch and turn on DCC with LGB and Zimo DCC units.
Welcome from Chicago. Love your pictures and outdoor layout. It looks like some track is laid on paving bricks and some on gravel. My compliments to your head of engineering and plantings. This is a great group.Good to be here. Looks very interesting. I would like to participate in many of the topics and contribute as best as I can. I have been collecting mostly LGB European (Analog) since ‘90 while in the service. I had scant opportunities to do an outdoor layout until 2019 and my wife (head of plantings) and I (engineering) jumped in with both feet and are having a blast. We run trains throughout the year as it is a form of therapy for us.
I’ll upload photos later. Difficult to do now - at the airport! Could it be that there are some other users ‘round here?
Ha, snuck some photos in! We have lots of varied “wild” life which keeps it interesting. Enjoy!
Is the 50p (uk) piece on her collar her bus fare home if she goes walkabout? Lovely looking girl.Noël
Thanks! All track is laid on ~4inches of ballast (#9 crushed limestone) except of course over bridges. I usually re-ballast each spring (sometimes more depending on how careful Izzy is repositioning herself at various vantage points across our setup!).
