Good calls chaps. Looks like the V3.0/V3.5 pictures on ESU's website.
 
No you won't have damaged it by putting it on a DC track. Now you need to find a friend with DCC programming capabilities!

Thanks for identifying it. As some of the eariler posts mentioned, is it possible analogue mode has been turned off on this chip? And if I've put DC on it, will I have damaged anything?

Yes, it's possible, but no, using DC on it won't have damaged anything (assuming that loose black wire hasn't been shorting anything).
