It's O-o-o-w Moooch?!!

1) A bidder can ask the seller to cancel their bid if they can argue that it was made in error (eg in this case, where the bidder obviously misunderstood exactly what was being auctioned)
2) no idea on that one.....

Two questions.

1 How can that higher bid be withdrawan as i thought once you bid that was it?

and

2 How can you know what the max bid was?

Hi Gordon
You can withdraw your bid and give an excuse like 'entered wrong amount'. But not after the 12 hour deadline (12 hours to go to finish)

If, the item was at let's say £25, you bid, let's say £75 as your maximum and then after your bid it jumps to £45...then you know that the maximum that the other's bids have gone to is about £40 odd quid.

You could then retract your bid.
I do not recommend this way of 'finding out' what the highest bid is,for many times on different items as ebay take a dim view of it and may stop you bidding for a time.

OK OK all these posts have got me totally confused, I couldn't bid on this one because I haven't a clue what I would be doing. I will hopefully be on the lookout for some second hand straights this summer, if my plans go ahead. Just roughly how much do you guys think I should be paying for a yard of used track, doesn't matter whose track it is as long as it carries current

The going rate for well-used track is, I reckon, around £3 - £3.50 a foot at the moment. Maybe a tenner for a yard length?
If it's in pristine condition, maybe a little more.

A quick internet search revealed one supplier offering new LGB 300mm straights at £4.30 each and another supplier offering yard lengths of AMS flexi track for £12.50 provided you purchased four yards at a time for £50.00.
Personally I think a fair price for used, dependant on condition, to be 50% to 75% of the current new price.

Item 2

Click on the item we are looking at

Click on the total bids

Scroll to the bottom look for retracted bids and read the £125...

We know this was the highest bidder before he retracted his bid and that bidder two had bid up to the £62 we all new about at the start of this thread.

so in theroy bidder two now has bids placed you to the £60 mark.

My personel sum is £4 a foot

Looking at the red coxes of track that 'Rails' have on ebay - they are all attaining this level of silly bidding. Maybe some wealth person who has no idea of the true cost is building his empire!!!!!

If anyone contributing to this thread is after an R1 point or 300mm lengths of track, I have one LH point at £17.50 (plus £2.60 postage) and several 300mm lengths at £3.50 each (postage on top at cost - need to check the number of lengths I have).

PM me if interested.

has anyone seen the clown offering a unmade bachmann kit combine for 95 quid,,, and

a scabby kit built c&s box car with bits missing for a bargain at 85 squids,,

some people,,,,,,,,

£7 a foot in the end including postage.... better go and have a look round the garage or just buy Whatleaps and list it as they did:bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile:

I would want them lifesize and working for that money - he does offer discount shipping though :rolf:

They are life size if you use Mike as the example:rolf::rolf::rolf:

If he sells his other items at the BIN prices it will be better than winning the lottery. The River Phoenix book at a tadge under 200 quid was the cheapest item, not quite my thing......

I am perfectly formed in my own way :0))

christ on a bike,,,,,, i think he lists them when drunk,,,,,
