Jack plug adaptors

I think this is the correct place for this query.
I want to light some buildings from a 3v, 4 way transformer instead of by the existing battery method.
The connectors are 3.5mm jack plugs which I need to convert to sockets to fit the buildings.
This means I need double ended female adaptors.
I can't find any in the various spares suppliers catalogues.
Do such things exist?

I believe they do exist, but you may have to try RS or Farnells Keith.

If I get time and remember, I'll have a look on the RS website later tonight.... http://rswww.com/

this type of thing?

I had another look at the RS site.
They show these

which look and sound to be what I need but clicking on the link doesn't show them anywhere I could see.

I've not seen that type of female through connector before, only the audio type 3.5 mm jack plugs.

The ones in your photo are low voltage power connectors, and I doubt if what you want exists, but you should be able to get the female sockets that mount on a pcb instead?

If you used veroboard pcb, you could solder your lamps/leds to it....

Thanks Gizzy, I suspected I was looking for something that didn't exist.
The buildings involved are mainly Lemax and Premier ones, they each come with a mains adaptor (or battery box) but it means having 9 of the things plugged into a multi point socket and I am trying to reduce the number to three.
It would probably be the simplest solution for me to cut off the jack plugs and solder new connectors in their places.
I have several redundant ones from interchangeable mains adaptors which would do the job.

Try Dolls House stores. They carry low voltage lighting wiring..plugs etc by CIRKIT (usually) Hobbies catalogue (WHS) is a good place to look..
Thanks Ross
What with these suggestions and the connectors offered on your site I have gone from being stuck for a solution to being spoiled for choice!
I will need to do some headscratching to get the best option.
