I like using KGR as until now the service has been exemplary but last week I put an order in and at the second attempt the PayPal payment went through but most unusually I have not had an order acknowledgement; phone calls unanswered and using the website contact form resulted in a message undeliverable caption. Andy is one of the good guys so I hope he is OK.
Has anyone else had any problems recently?

Right. Back to working on the new shed storage sidings

I've had the same experience- a small order on 4th March, payment taken but no order acknowledgment and unable to get an answer on the phone. Very unlike Andy.

Yep, there's a thread labelled Aristocraft R3 points where the OP is having difficulty contacting KGR.

As you say, very unlike him.

Yeah, there's obviously a problem, which is a shame because KGR have been a big support to large scale over the years.

There must be someone in the area, who could go and see if there is a note in the shop window? - Assuming KGR has a physical shop?

I will use some of my contacts, and see if I can find out any more..

They closed the old shop, but they still have the stock room at the rear.

I visited once after lock down, when on the way home from visiting my son in Croydon.

I was lucky that they had the stock room open.

I brought a crane from them at Eaton Bray last November....

I've been to their shop a couple of times and always came away with something useful. Nice, helpful chap from experience, and his stock was amazing, plenty of boxes of odds and ends that were great for browsing.

I believe Andy is ill at the moment. Hi missed a few of his booked shows recently because of this.

Thanks for the feedback..

I don't have anything concrete, but am getting the same information from my sources.

As Andy has always been so good in the past I have done my best to support him when shopping so I wondered if illness was the issue. Unfortunately though according to PayPal a payment of Around a hundred quid has gone through and I can I'll afford to take the loss so sadly I think I am going to have to talk to my credit card company. I so don't want to have to do that

If you open an item not received case with paypal it will highlight the case - you had 45 days to open case previously, but I think it's longer now. It may just be easier to refund you that find the item an ship it especially if someone else is looking after the account.

Not a pleasant situation to be in!

Sad news:
It would appear from reports that Andy passed away in hospital, a day or so ago.
Another trader gone.
RIP Andy.

Yes that is sad news. I bought my first ever G Scale train set (Bachman) from him.

Such a shame, he was a decent chap. I bought my first live steamer from his shop. An impulse buy of an Accucraft Dora. An impulse buy I've never regretted
