Re:Klein Arosa RhB layout

That is one nice big exhibition layout. Looking forward to seeing it at one of the shows. Any one care or able to publish a list of shows that it will be attending this Autumn?

Re:Klein Arosa RhB layout

I went down to Woking Show last Saturday just to see this layout. I have to say that ir is truly inspirational. Both in the careful Modelling. But more importantly for me the way it is run. This was carried out in an unhurried way and to a very believable form that shows that the builders have WATCHED trains running on the RHB. Guys the tacking on of Tail wagons on the passenger traisn is just spot on. The only part that grated a bit was that one of the operators was changing direction of the pilot almost immediately. May I be so bold as to suggest counting to 5 as in1 spagettii 2 spagetti etc before changing direction.

Not sure if the Klein Arosa mob are able to visit the Ruschbahn in St Neots (would be next year now). But you would be assured of a warm welcome by fellow RHB fans. Even though our period is somewhat earlier, a selection of Modern Push Pull trains if brought along would make a nice change. They would also look good in the 12ft high concrete mountains.

Re:Klein Arosa RhB layout

Glad you enjoyed it Jon, you should have made yourself known. As to the shunter reversing instantly we have seen it done at a couple of locations, Landquart and Arosa itself on light loco moves though it should wait while coupling up you are correct.
I guess it depends on the driver in real life and on the model so the difference between operators is realistic too.
If you go to the Harz you see them stopping steam locos on the reverser, going instantly back again, and that really is an art without bending things.

Re:Klein Arosa RhB layout

You are right I probably should have made myself known. But I know what it is like giving a show to the public, sometimes difficult to keep things going and chat. You were both doing such a great job that I did not want to spoil it. maybe next time, perhaps you may want some help too. I am proficient with MTS and exhibitition running so could give a hand if anyone needs a break.

That offer at the Ruschbahn is still open for next year, we had a crowd come up from Westbury, Salisbury and Southampton area a year or two ago. All RHB nuts too so I gather. Sadly I was not able to be present at the time, but I usually am.
