New Haven Neil

Thanks to John of Trackshack, I received my Leader this evening - I was supposed to go to Peel to collect it, but as I'm not very well today (a touch of the 'Nodrog's' :bleh: ) John said he would deliver - so here it is on the kitchen table...both chimbleys displayed, but the L&L management are going for the straight one (so I have been informed....). I think Allan has one coming, but I don't recall what colour it was to be?

I'm very pleased with this little loco, looks a lot nicer in the 'flesh' than in photos, red backed nameplates I think, and BR mixed traffic style lining.....

Oooh, very nice indeed.

How about PQR lining rather than B.R. mixed traffic?

I have to admit Trackshack's delivery on the IoM is fist class

Nice looking loco too, but its not bright yellow Neil? Is the new new dark side of the L&L or have you been nationalised ?

very handsome and well proportioned-
i too think a red plate and perhaps some fancy lining and it will be a show stopper-perhaps a headlight(s)?

i shall be anxious to read about how she runs steams etc

not familiar at all with the prototype presume it is IOM, and
what firm manufactures the model?

love the trailing wheels and the holes in the discs

Steve, It's Accucraft's latest, and is a model of a loco at the Sittingbourne and Kelmsley railway in Kent (UK) once the Bowaters paper mill, hence the spark arrester.

Neil R, PQR??? Que?

Sealion, I prefer the style of the Lady Anne lining - photo with kind permission of Geoff Munday.

So would that be just the BR lining (very nice indeed) or with the lion and wheel and large numbers as well Neil?

Happy steamings,

John

Just the lining, and an L&L crest... and the red nameplates - 'Doona' = 'Dark Maiden'

It works well on saddle tanks! Mr Lightline was pleased with it as she appears in his advert in SMT.
Cheers Garry.

I actually think the same would look good. Great Eastern style red only might be a bit dull? Or white/black/white.....caley stylee?

Thanks Neil, if you're sure you don't want it? I actually want it for Caradog although "Superior" ;) did run with a spark arrestor chimney for short periods so it wouldn't look out of place.

The chimney is held by a threaded ring and a spacer inside the 'box, but leaves the saddle as a loose component on the outside - slide the horrid one out while holding the bits inside it says in the destructions, (I just took it all out to re-organise my hands and fingers first!) and put the nice proper one in it's place, and tighten the ring - I had to use long nosed pliers to get it tight, the threads weren't all that good.

Neil R - PQR - d'oh! I don't like the blue line in that though, I prefer the BR style.
