LGB mystery accessory

Can anyone identify this piece of process equipment labelled LGB 4040 -29? Came with an auction box of bits.

4040 series were/are tank cars, so I am guessing it may be a part from one of these?

Looking at the tank car exploded diagram, I only see up-to part 28.

Googley AI search suggests it is a Part from a Corgi Scammell model..

I wonder if the LGB order number stickers etc have come from the id on another sheet of stickers? - The tank cars (LGB 4040) came with a sticker sheet.

A flight of fancy, to create a wagon load, perhaps?
