LGB Toytrain loco no drive factory fault.

I've just fixed an LGB Toytrain loco that had no drive, this was a US image type from the last days of Lehmann, the wheels where not rotating although there was motor noise. I thought that this was the common stripped gears fault but when I took off the bottom cover they were the newer more chunky type and looked as new. A little perplexed I took off the body to find that the top cover plate to the motor block was not screwed down and the motor had risen up and the worms were no longer engaged! I guess the factory workers had stopped caring at that time having seen the writing on the wall!

Tis a shame if it was a non-caring employee that caused this, but in the circumstances sort of understandable.

Our firm took over premises that was once occupied by Standard Life a few years back. Some of the signage both within and outside the building clearly illustrated employees feelings.

All the "Standard Life" signage was reworded to "Standard Lie" (and very effectively I may add, you couldn't tell it had been doctored)

Someone had also gone to the trouble of making up a sign in the Standard Life format/style, pointing toward the exit to the building and stating "Job Centre That Way"

Anyhoo back on thread. Glad you got the loco sorted.

I thought the toytrain locos stopped being made before LGB's demise.

What is the number on the round gold sticker if it is still there?
First and last digit are the year.
