Looking for cottage kits

My garden railway needs half a dozen new British cottages to replace wooden buildings which have disintegrated after ten years outside. Can anyone suggest some kits? I have looked at the British Outline Buildings range and will be getting their Welsh cottage. However they don't seem to have much else in cottages and I don't really want too many the same. Is there anyone else? I need to stick to kits, rather than fully assembled, so that the airmail charges to Australia are not too huge.

They look very nice, must be no demand for Australian G scale buildings no one makes them for sale....
 
What about Jackson's Miniatures, Peter? Have a look at www.jacksonsminiatures.com/24_031.html
We offer a 4 for the price of 3 so you can make up a nice terrace. The prices shown include UK VAT at 20%, which you wouldn't have to pay. The material (moisture proof, or 'green', mdf) is quite suitable for permanent outdoor use when properly sealed. It is not the same as regular mdf that you are probably familiar with. Absolutley Ross, none of the upstairs downstairs pretense for us, a Bungalow will do nicely on a 1/4 acre....

ive got the pendelbury model buildings.. they are fully waether proff ,being resin made. easy to make,, and alter, stick to gether with super glue.. ive found them idea.. :)

The Jacksons Minatures link did not work for me but I found them on Google. Didn't appeal to me as the detached buildings lacked character and the terraced houses were way too British for an Australian railway. Also was not sure how the treated mdf would handle our sunshine (yes, we get a lot of it).
Therefore I have ended up ordering three resin kits from Pendlebury.
I'm at the Great Southern Steam Up this weekend so I will check with the guys there for any Australian building kits.

Understood Peter. They are meant to resemble typical terraced houses found in Britain. They are sold separately as fronts and backs, so you can make a terrace of fronts only, backs only, or join them up to make complete houses.

I omitted the http:// first time round and I think that caused the problem.
Although you've placed an order elsewhere, it may be worth mentioning that a lot of scratch builders use our doors and windows and it may have been a way forward if you fancied designing your own. (Of course you can make your own doors and windows as well, but our unique design is very appealing and takes away a lot of the pain. They are pretty tough as well compared with a wooden equivalent).
The mdf would be fine in sunshine. All you'd need to do is apply a new coat of paint every now and then, just like the real thing.

they are very tough, ian.s did a beautifull station useing a jacksons kit as a base..
and apaerntly.. theres a pub comeing..:thumbup:

Hi, thanks Gordon for the plug.
Postage to Australia is not too bad for flat kits and can be much cheaper if you can wait for Surface Mail - 6 to 8 weeks!!!!!!
