They won't be in the shops till February 2012 but thought you might like to see the first factory pictures of the new Accucraft Baguley with metal chassis. In particular I like the Yellow requested by some members of this forum - quite handy for industrial use.

What's the weight like in this new version John?

Can't help noticing it only picks up off 4 wheels despite being a 6 wheeled chassis.

I quite like the maroon version.
I have checked with Accucraft and they advise the loco has pickups on all six wheels. It's hard to tell from the picture but there are copper 'wipers' touching the middle wheelsets.

I haven't had my hands on one yet but having a substantial all metal chassis it should be reasonably heavy.

Happy steamings,

John

They look great - very 'British' - how big are they against typical LGB stock (about 1:22)? I'm guessing they are a touch larger, as I guess they're 16mm? (1:19)?

Yes that's correct James. They look OK with LGB rolling stock though. I must have some pics of my old one somewhere (now with Mark Biff). I'll see if I can dig one out.

I think that I'll definitely go for one of these beauties.

is the gearbox a better version than the old one? seem to remember issues with them. Reckon ill be taking one, how much des the full size version pull?

Well I was up for a black one........but I do like the red...... does anyone know how many AA batteries I could get in there? :)

or how many sub-Cs ? :bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile:

I was going to go for blue, but it seems a bit bland? might just be as the paint job isn't a glossy finish, swayed more by the yellow now :thumbup:

Talking of liveries for the Baguley...... Anyone fancy this in the attached photo':rolf::rolf: Complete with fluffy dice..................

Taken at Golden Valley Light Railway (Its what comes of asking your granddaughter what colour to paint your engine I believe;))

The Accucraft Baguley looks very nice by the way! I keep wondering if I might drop down a scale or two and get one of these and a bit of stock... that would make 4 different scales on my line:D I was wondering like others is this a new gearbox etc as the issues put me off last time a bit? Mind you seen these upscaled to 7/8ths as well though.....

I think I got 7 in one for a pal. Maybe it was 6, anyway it went just about the right speed! The weight made it run quite well, a touch noisy but nothing bad.

I wonder how the yellow one would look with an all black chassis................ :thinking::thinking:
