My First Foam Board Building

Another fantastic start there! How did you do the name?
I bought a set of buildings from a war games website. The are designs that are intended to be printed onto paper in around 0 gauge. I import them as images into Photoshop and rescale them then use them as input into my cnc. So the text is part of the paper drawings and gets to be part of the outline that the cnc processes

A cnc 'what' are you using?
Pray tell. Looks to be a useful tool..

It's a Stepcraft 420 which in theory has an A3 size bed. It is a cnc router rather than a milling machine. For design software I use Vcarve which will import both cad drawings as well as bit map. I tend to use the latter.

This is the machine which I bought via StoneyCNC. This is the stock machine which does not include the spindle shown as this is an optional extra of which I added a one Ana a few other bits

15195827103711046974436.jpg this is an example of the origin of the buildings and the one I am now working on. This is scanned into Photoshop cleaned up and rescaled Then it is imported into Vcarve where it is further cleaned up and the cut pits for the windows and doors and overall added.

The detailing for the wood planks (and the bricks in the previous ones) is made by using a home made rounded end scrubber which then traces the lines. The cut outs are done with a 1mm windmill.

This model will be a bit more involved than the previous ones as it will have a balcony and exterior stairs. I will also try to make the upper windows as they are sash type and I can't find any in the dolls house range to suit. The same goes for the main door.

This one is going to take some time as it will be interupted by a trip to spain to do the annual spruce up of the apartment ready for the summer invasion of daughters and their partners and off spring

A great building, and I too like the Presier figures - nicely detailed.
