New LGB KoF - anyone actually got one yet?

Thanks DR - nice pic of the DB version, though I think personally I prefer the orange HSB one (my collection is completely freelance and very strictly Rule 8, so I run what looks good to me!). The one good thing you can say for LGB/Marklin is that they have at least gone to some trouble to make the two versions quite different, rather than just a simple repaint of the same model.

Jon.

I think that red one looks damb good actually. Shame I would rather have the metre gauge HSB one to go with other stock. The single air tank looks much neater and better modelled than the two on the HSB one.

Nice shot of the HSB version, Alyn - is that a stock pic you've found somewhere online, or have you actually got one?

Actually, unlike previous shots of the same version, this pic really does show the colour difference on the thingy (compressor, whatever?) mounted on the left side at the front of the hood.

I have taken the plunge and it will be here on monday  I was going to hold on but not sure how many units have been made ,and I didn't want to miss out .

Well done, that man! Can I ask who you've got it from?
Will look forward to reading a review once you have it in your hands (so to speak....) ;)

Oooh I wish I had a couple of hundred stashed, but I'm skint (for the garden railway project) until bonus time in April's pay packet :( Make sure you share some photos with us all :)

nicely done simon:thumbup:

Good on yer Simon - which variety have you gone for.
Have to say it looks brilliant in that vid despite reported problems.
I take it the Massoth is an add on.

Just looked at the Massoth site. They are doing the DB and HSB versions as two separate sound sets.

James, I have no idea whether or not Marklin-LGB cares about customer or dealers feedback. As is apparent from the posts here, we are all willing to accept a little sloppiness in order to get our toys. Because of that, Marklin never gets the full picture of the problem. I suggest that every one of us should write the editors of the LGB club magazine every time he or she receives an LGB product that is not up to snuff, and we should do so regardless of whether or not a response is received. Sooner or later the message will get to Marklin.
They is also the issue of poor product documentation (users? manuals, parts diagrams, etc?). I am not willing to continue supporting Marklin-LGB if they are not willing to meet half way. I do plan to buy any new LGB rolling stock until I hear that things have changed.

OK, I've weakened and gone for one as well - just spoken to Dragon a few mins ago, apparently the stock has arrived this afternoon, but they're not shipping any of them out till Monday - so I guess we'll both get them together on Tuesday morning! I've asked them to open mine up and check it out for any damage, scratches or loose bits before sending it, and also to track-test it - so if the Gods are willing and the courier doesn't break it, it should be OK. Then I'll just need an "S" module programmed with the right sounds, and it'll all be good!
There goes the money that Gizzy just paid me for my old MTS gear..... what goes around, comes around. ;)

That's a good idea. I would also suggest that in the same email/letter that you say what is good about the product. A message with both good and bad may carry more weight than just a letter of complaint. You might also be more likely to get a response and action at their end.
