New NQD

they look nce, but i can't help comparing the pricing in u.s and here in uk. bearing in mind the currency exchange rate, the coach is 39 units, whether pounds or dollars should they not be cheaper here ? noticed the same thing with euros to pounds

For Newqida, eBay seller Regereone is both the cheapest and easiest seler to work with. A true gentleman. He is located in the U.S. If quoted shipping is more than actual, he will refund the difference. At present, he has discounted his stock, even the green coaches. Worth a look.

It would be interesting if NQD started making track...

They do, albeit of the plastic variety. Handy for testing r/c models or as storage track: http://www.storacingproducts.com/track-set-for-g-scale.html
It would help if they specified exactly what quantity of track came with the set as it suggests you get one curve, one straight and a left hand and a right hand point!

In March this year I did email some company called Active Scale Models about Anax track, but never received a reply.

Why on earth do they make plastic track? If they made clockwork locos I would understand, but they don't - yet.

I think thier loco is battery Pugs.

Aaaaah, perfectly logical then.

No need to think Alan, you are correct, they are battery powered.

I've got a rake of five of these Steve, that I bought as cheap respray/kitbash fodder.

I think it's cool that they have started making both coaches in a "blod and custard" scheme, easier to apply the masking tape I assume :D

Looks like the new coach is the same body, but with a different roof?

I decided to see what the NQD open wagons are like and ordered a pair from STO Racing. The order was placed at 4pm on Friday and the wagons arrived by Fedex this morning (Tuesday) at around 9:30am. The total cost including delivery was £26.44, so each wagon has cost me £13.22. So a big thumbs up to them, given this experience I would happily recommend them.

I have done a very brief bit of testing with the wagons and it is clear that a bit of fettling will be required to get them running well... I had a few decoupling and derailing incidents. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to solve these issues though.
And here they are...

Thanks for the pictures James, I too ordered a pair from STO and they are on the way to me in Spain, under £31 with delivery (Fedex ?), I figured it was worth the extra £3 not to have to stuff them in my hand luggage in accordance with a certain airlines cabin baggage restrictions. I like the yellow, but I ordered brown. I thought at the price it was worth checking them out. When I was in the Uk in April I bought two red coaches from ModelJunction in BSE at a fair price.(Gizzy's favourite shop)
I have had to shorten the buffers in order for the hooks to engage in the loops otherwise they would not couple up at all - anyone else had this problem. The other quality control problem is that a pair of handrails was absent. But for less than the price of a s/h starter coach I ain't gonna moan.

I purchased eight of the green coaches when they were first released. I had to shorten the buffers as even on my ten foot curves I was getting buffer lock and derailing. I fitted the small Bachmann wheelsets for that narrow-gauge look.

Here is a LGB loco with six of the cars. I like them a lot.

Mine were as well - the solution is to remove them, put them in a vice and squeeeeeeeeze. Simples.
