newqida HSB HARTZ passenger cars and DR Passenger cars

I have only just come across this thread and I too was pleased to note Paul Hammond's clarification regarding 'ownership' as there were so many rumours in circulation. Several members have asked if their is a distributor in this country. I don't know the answer to that but I eventually gave up trying to find one and ordered direct from Hammond Toys in the USA (and very professional and efficient they were).

However,in the absence of any new production in recent months (or is that years?) I manage to obtain a small quantity from an enterprising Dutch Model Railway Group. After a very long wait these have finally arrived.

Priority is being given to customers who placed back orders or expressed an interest previously but there are still a few left over if anyone is interested. They are the "old" TB version in plain red and plain blue livery rather than the more interesting designs which now appear to be available from Paul.

Just visit my G Scale website at www.gscaleonline.co.uk and follow the Passenger Car links.

Hope you don't mind me advertising but some members may not want to wait for shipments from the USA (the Summer could be over already!) or pay the expedited shipping costs, not to mention the dreaded customs duty and VAT which makes such imports a lot more expensive than they initially appear.

I'll say it again - There is no duty on model trains, only VAT and handling fees.

If you say so, but why have they charged me 4% on my parcels!

The customs entry was completed with the wrong code, easy mistake, there are hundreds of them, possibly thousands - ask for a refund.

Thanks very much to those who clarified the difference between the "Saxon" (Saschen?) and "Harz" versions of these great coaches. I also import them from Paul Hammond but found it extremely difficult to tell them apart - in fact I still do!. I was also contacted by Mike Scheffczyk from Germany who apparently designed the new roof outlines.

I can confirm that Mr 2jags has the Hammond coaches on his web site & on ebay. Cheaper than importing from US & quicker (next day delivery).
Basically a complete train for the price of a coach.
The only problems with mine were the roof vents were loose in the box & one coupling was missing.
