Orient Express Rolling Stock

IMG_20160410_153702.JPG IMG_20160410_153604.JPG Had a couple of spare hours this morning so thought I'd populate the coach. Cakes, tea, coffee and proper meals were served to all those sitting down. Bulkheads have had period Orient Express posters put in place. Now close to putting everything back together if I can find all the bits and screws.

But where is Hercule Poirot in all this?
I've just been digging around in the garage. No wonder he wasn't easy to find as he appears to have lost a bit of weight! As the saying goes - "watch this space".

one of the nices bits ive seen in a long time..

Updat3.
Hercules is getting dressed. Due to his weight loss many of his clothes didn't fit, but he's plumped for the grey three piece silk suit, white shirt and black bowtie. Black homburg hat and silver-topped cane being obligatory. He'll be here tomorrow, I hope.

Ha ha - like it.

Then you just need to add a few chalk outlines of bodies on the coach floor...

Thanks Mike, but having seen some of your productions I wish I had your skills.

Bonjour mes amis. I am returned. Time, she has not been kind to Poirot wiz ze thinning of ze hair and also ze waistline. Sadly Hastings and Miss Lemon are not to be found and much is not as it was. Ze dress code no longer exists and zere are no bodies yet, but given ze standard of ze food zere is still time. But I must hurry and take my seat as Inspector Japp hopes to join me for dinner. Ze leetle grey cells zey still function and ve have much to discuss. Mais, c'est formidable.P1040225.JPG

Found all the bits and finally managed to get it re-assembled. Note to self- next time take pics when dismantling anything. It was getting a bit dark but managed a couple of snaps. The colour appears way out but I will try and post better photos done in full daylight later in the week. Before and after shots below.restaurant original.jpg restaurant rebuilt.jpg

IMG_20160413_093800.JPG IMG_20160413_093722.JPG Voila! Believe it or not they are both the same colour. It's th3 angle of the sunlight that makes it appear otherwise.

Two more coaches almost ready to join the roster. 3097 & 3098 just await doors from the paint shop and their quota of passengers. Managed to source two s/h 3064s on eBay.de for a smidgeon under £130 (including shipping). Only one more donor for 3099 required. These latest vehicles have been fitted with metal wheelsets. Now what am I going to do with the two redundant red and cream second class coach bodies?IMG_20160418_133953.JPG

Nice work Mike.

I look forward to seeing the completed train with the Mikado at the head....
Just for you Gizzy, but not the full train as your message earlier today caused me to open my wallet yet again. I've also just put a short video on YouTube as I had a darkside test run. Picture is not too steady as I found it difficult to film and use a handset at the same time. I would have put the link on here but can't work out to do it. The clip title is "Hemsby Valley Railway 10 Orient Express test run".
