Pick Up Skates on LGB Railbus

I learn something new every day. And while it may not enhance my life, it is still interesting. It appears that Marklin-LGB has put Pick-Up-Skates on the new rail buses. See it here;

LGB tram I just got has both skates and wheel brushes.... Now if this has the same and you made the skates vibrate.....

LGB Trolleys have always had both skates and wheel brushes. But rail buses never did. So I presume the change was brought about by the Marklin connection.

I wonder if they abandoned the universal joint /axel and if it is now fixed axel
from a retooling aspect this doesn't make a lot of sense, but from others , such as fewer parts and universal parts , I could

I see the trailer is fitted with external light, as well
