PIKO G US Mogul

Yeah, been following a thread and pictures on My Large Scale. I hope it's a success, although looks a little too "shorty" for my taste - too much like the LGB 2-4-0.

Might change my mind if I see one in-the-flesh.

at first i thought why on earth a mogul
but i think its a very versatile style-late narrow gauge or even standard gauge

you know i quite like the looks of it-the domes are off-putting however-but could esily be covered with after market brass or white metal versions i would think
and
what IS that thing up by the stack that looks like an LGB style euro air pump???

now
the issue will be how it runs and quality

looks very similar the the little LGB 2-4-0 abomination-
which not surprisingly i also like-albeit an acquired taste-
but this one is far more plausible in proportion
wonder how it will run???
that could be a great seller if its a good quality

ill bet its based on the BR 18 or is 81 (??is that right) chassis-if so, anyone have one and how do those run??
as i recall those have/had issues with the wheels getting very dirty or soemthing and pickup of electricity

anyone else scroll down and see the curved points R3? very nice

Hmm, i like that..!
Now is it speakers or that for Ch******s?

That valve gear is a huge improvement over the small german tank engine they do though... boiler looks funny with small domes and a tall stack though. Ripe for bashing if at the right price :)

I can't see myself buying one of those Moguls even thou it's in Rio Grande ,for the same money you can buy a Bachmann 1:20.3 spectrum mogul

It just doesn't look right

It looks like the LGB shorty from the front, the cab's better than LGB's fat boy, but ........

Naaaah :thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:
