Piko V60 diesel shunter announced 20-10-09

I read somewhere that the Railbus is something like 1/27 or so. Maybe Piko's other standard gauge locos are about the same. The upshot is that it looks like the prototype but "fits" with 1/22.5 narrow gauge stock; the Railbus model - a low vehicle in prototype - is lower than a standard LGB coach, for example...

And some more pictures of the actual production model that is currently being delivered to dealers in Germany:

You can see the loco and (just about) one of the new Piko coaches on the right-hand side of the photo.

PS We like big :applause:

Four pick up skates on an 0-6-0 - should be good for power pick up.

Tis big innit ?
Pretty well detailed too.

Yes, they are big in real life, too. See this photo - next to a Koef shunter:

so was a v60 narrow guage equipment?

Wonder if perhaps the sound effect is because its an analogue loco running on a digital system perhaps??

Ref the 4 skates, wonder if the wheels themselves are fitted for current collection?

looks nice though

sounds like its on digical, me piko railbuss made much the same noise before the magic smoke escaped from the motor... :(

i like it too -hope they have some luxury goodies like reversing lights and red tail lights etc

One of the comments on Youtube is that the loco is analog and being run on a digital test track.

I'm not too familiar with Piko locos. How do they compare to LGB quality-wise?

Glen

I've been impressed with mine so far. See the threads in the Product Review section for the BR80 and Railbus.
