tramcar trev
all manner of mechanical apparatus...
As it was an other stinking hot day today I stayed indoors in the AC.... A little forward planning was called for...
As can be seen from my sketch I will have a "city Block" for the trams to run around and I'm in need of some buildings. A nice Aussie Pub, an Art Deco Cinema and a row of terrace houses is the aim atm....
Not sure whether the Como School of farts or the art deco cinema, I like the cinema as it would be very easy to make the front from foamcore with strips of something glued on with a space between to give the relief and it has no rounded corners....The arched gal Iron roof could be a challenge...
The Old Como Hotel is going to be a challenge but for sheer fun it should be good, its all corrugated iron and the new railings I'd replace with cast iron lace. Im only going to build the original bit. It may be too big though to fit, I'll have to fiddle with the dimensions to see if it can be done.
The tricky bit is going to be the statue of the patron saint of rail & tramways Queen Victoria. At this stage I really do not have a clue how Im going to make a 150mm high Victoria.... Maybe I can get a latex mold online and make a plaster one...
Foamcore will be the main material used in construction as I want these buildings to be removeable and self suffient with a plug and socket for lighting and special effects..... That way I feel I can do a better job of it if they can be a) built inside and B0 not have to withstand the rigours of the weather....
