Question about DIGITRAX Zephyr DCS 50

[I have used] The DCS50 is the command centre, which can then drive a booster unit DB100, or a command station configured as just a booster ( DB150, DB200 ). The booster is fed with 18 volts, which is then high enough for a reasonable speed. And you will have 5 amps, plenty for 2 or 3 trams moving at once.
You need a second speed controller? Hook up a second DCS50 configured as just a throttle onto the loconet bus, and away you go. And a third, and a fourth.... You can also use the handheld throttles ( UT..various models available).
I have bought a few Digitrax units used and they all were fine.

That's got to be worth considering, if Peter particularly likes the design of the DCS50 throttle to emulate driving a tram, and would like more throttles. A DB150 5 amp booster is around £140 - £150 by the look of it.

Hello friends,
thanks you for your help. I have to go throuh it and will make a decision. By the way I've got a LGB Nürnberg Tram, just today. Shoot it for 461,00 €. Why? Hmmh Made a mistake by biding on Ebay. I really don't want to pay more than 450,00 €, but I dig in 4501,00 €. Saw that too late, But it had an nearly good end. I it stopped by 461,00 € Puhh!

I have been using a Zephyr Plus as command station connected to a DB200 booster for track power to run my garden railway for two years now. The only problem is that I do not have direct line of sight over much of my railway. To achieve this I have also connected a Raspberry Pi running JMRI, which enables the use of smartphones to control the locomotives via an old WiFi router.

We have run up to three locomotives at the same time, albeit with short trains (2-4 coaches), with no problem. At one point my booster packed up (and was sent on holiday to Florida to be fixed) and I was able to run a couple of locomotives without it for the month or so it was away.
