Railroad font for DIY transfers

That is a great set of links. Any one know of anything similar for German Railways, preferably the East German DR?

Nice find Dave :)

Most European railways used the DIN1451 font for their technical data panels and even type face. It's available as a free font download if you do a Google search. I use it on my custom transfers extensively :)

Thank you, just what I have been looking for! D&RGW and Railroad Roman.
One little problem, I cannot work out how to download and open in MS Publisher/Word. Any tips for an idiot like me. I can see the disc icon and click/open but no further instructions to download and install.
Max.

Right click on the icon, and "save as", then save the font to a temporary folder - then transfer it to Windows/Fonts.

I tried to "save as" straight to the Fonts folder but it wouldn't let me - either Windows playing up or my stupidity - I know which one I'm banking on

Much appreciate the advice but I am still being an idiot. Right click on "disc" icon wil not give me a "save as " option. Right click on message when left click on disc icon gives option to save file but only gives gives me option to save on desktop on drop down menu. Do not know what is a temprary file or what you mean by "extract file". As I said I am an idiot. I am using windows vista.
When I go into help on Word it just gets more cofusing and looks as though the company that produce a dry print set of decals for me will not even be able to reproduce the font(s) as it may not transfer with the word file. I think it is back to the drawing board time on this one, a pity. Must go and learn more about my computer thingy.
Max.

Thanks for the link Dai
when I think how much I paid for Frank Lloyd Wright's Eaglefeather font.... I hope you knew his mother was Welsh (from Llandysul)

James many thanks for that, at last it looks like I will be able to make my relettering correct.

Great bit of information Dave and James. Thanks
After several dead end attempts I got this link to work for the DIN 1451.
http://www.abstractfonts.com/font/13882
Click on 'download' box - top right of screen.
Save file where you can find it.
Click on file and copy to windows, fonts folder.
Thats it - its in your font selection in Word.
