In their latest newsletter, Grootspoor states LGB is recalling Kö/Köf locomotives. LGB has discovered some of these locomotives are not running as smooth as they should be, and at a irregular speed.
All Kö/Köf locomotives can be affected by this problem, which are the following:

Curious. For what it's worth, Stockers' 21930 was super-smooth yesterday in Ruritania. Probably the best slow-running of any item all day.

Well, he is lucky with his one then :) I'm also curious how much of these locomotives are actually not running well, and what is causing the problem..

mine runs fine, exceptionly well at slow ove poiints, something i thought it wouldnt do..

Mine runs fine but could not pull the skin off a rice pudding

only one way to find out:thumbup:

Mine (orange HSB from the earliest batch to come into the UK) seems to run fine, so far anyway - at Stuart's indoor running day a couple of months ago it was very happy pulling eight or nine LGB 2-axle tank cars and (at one point) the Round Robin Boxvan.

It would be quite awkward for me to send mine back, since I've fitted a Massoth S sound unit (I could remove it of course, but it'd be a hassle I could do without). I notice that Modell-Land offer the whole ready-to-run KoF power block as a spare part (at 100 Euros), maybe Marklin should just send a new one of these out to everyone who can prove having bought a new KoF, in the long run it would probably cost them less than the recall.... ;)

Jon.

PS: DR, do you have a direct link to the recall notice, so we can see what the terms and conditions are?

I don't have a direct link.

LGB usually never publishes this online, they just pass the information via the shops. I read it in the latest newsletter from Grootspoor..

The clue is in the word "Shunter "

Stockers' loco's haulage powers were greatly improved yesterday by the addition of a kilo of lead on the cab roof.

Wanna buy some lead? :rolf:

A shunter will normaly have more tractive effort than a large loco:thumbup:, but top speed wil be slow:thumbdown:

DB Schenker have only just replaced the class 08 with class 66 to pull 2000t of stone across the main lines at Toton due to the time it takes for a train of that length to cross at 5 MPH instead of say 15MPH.

Would this be invisible lead

That costs extra. In visible money.

OK, thanks. So that should mean that all UK stockists get the recall notice too - in my case Dragon G Scale. Jeremy, if you're out there reading this, have you heard anything about it yet?

Jon.

Will you cover postage Peter

Go for it steve. Great little locos.
Yellow or Red one Steve.
Use paypal and send it back if not perfect.
