Recommended brand of Aa rechargable batteries

Eneloop may not be the best bet then? I'm not sure how to calculate the amps. I'm intending the batteries to run on 2 locos, on an ip engineering shelly tram with a 7.2v motor (supposed to run off 6 as batteries) and the other an andel models ffion which takes 3 aa batteries (4.5v)

Any suggestions?

Regards

Daniel

LSD AA rechargeable batteries and Eneloop in particular are always the best bet.
You have a choice of 3 types for a variety of specific purposes.
I have been using the regular type for many years without any failures or dead battery packs.

Thanks for that Tony. You mentioned earlier about putting batteries in a series. Do you think that is advised with my above applications?

Being a nominal 1.2 volts, the batteries in question have to be placed in series to gain the correct voltage required. 10 x cells for 12 volts etc.
It is better to have the button top cells welded professionally rather than soldering them or placing them in battery holders. It is OK to solder cells that are tabbed at each end. The cells must be matched for capacity.

Bought a load of Maplin own brand AA's and AAA's last year (about this time as it happens).

The AA's were brilliant and lasted for ages.

The AAA's were rubbish. Some of them no charge fresh out of the packet.

Bought some what I can only say were Cheapo batteries in September from Go Outdoors, as they were on offer and I was buying a torch at the time which of course needed batteries. Stuck em in the torch - nothing - popped in some Duracells and lo, there was light.

[Edit] That'll teach me to read the thread titles thoroughly - Rechargeable AA's. Of course none of the above were rechargeables.

Thought that I would try some of the LSD jobbies and this happened.........................

They haven't managed to recharge them then? ;D

This is getting stupid, who do I complain to because I am not in the EU yet they demand I comply with their stupid cookie directives.

There is an 'add on' which can be used depending upon which browser you use: it is called 'I don't care about cookies'. It allows cookies but avoids you having click to accept them. It is available with Google Chrome and maybe with other browsers.

Try some of the trade cells usally made by sanyo from the likes of CPC (Farnell) or Rapid electronics, Not usally the cheepest but usally well made and actually do what that say on the Battery

Ignore them Trev...Its like California ,where everything sold there seems to have a sticker on it warning about possible carcinogenic material in the manufacture.
Yeah we seem to have the same fetish with nuts, even jars of peanut butter carry warnings about "This product may contain nuts" but what about the PRINCIPLE here? I mean if I don't want a damned EU cookie why should I have it? They are bland and tasteless....

Personally, I prefer biscuits..........
