thats ballpark right now-give or take about 50 US -for new or very close thereto
i believe i recall paying 175 for mine-from watts trains (very fair market) in unsed condition (NOS) before the failure of LGB and dwindling stock and availability issues-
in fact ive seem many around the 300 mark new -probably ebay scalpers' prices-or those original retailers that sold stock at full list price and still have some to move
when they were at their least expensive several years back -they were 199
depending upon wear, etc, and the inclusion of both knuckles (as supplied) and the hook and loops (also supplied) -and shipping-that seems extremely reasonable
in my ebay purchases as of late-here in the US it is rare to get any LGB engine in decent oncdition for much under 150-a very general observation-the davenport is a very nice engine compared to the starter types-so that alone makes it seem rather fair
the later version of DRG had black counter weights and brighter orange paint
the original issue has sliver counter weights and more subdued orange (and does not have the bonnet seam later added by the molding guys at LGB-a fun fact to know and discard!)
if you have strong feelings about livery-that seems a very reasonable price if condition is good-
frankly, you may indeed get one for less-or you may not see one again for awhile-of all the liveries-id guess DRGW is the most sought after-especially because it is so popular, prototypical, and compatible with larger "F" scale NG -
otoh, in my ramblings onto various g scale sites, they dont seem terribly popular -but some do have them
timing is everything-
sometimes it takes a very long time-sometimes not,
as is place of purchase. If you saw one at a show or jumble-you could pay more or less still.
i dont think with the onset of the holidays you will see ebay prices go down however
it might however be worth your while to give g scale dragon and other shops a quick ring if you will feel better
i think once in hand you will like it a great deal
look at the wheels and skates, handrails-bell-or horn as the case may be-, window awnings, lift bars and coupler pneumatics lifts, doors windscreen blades, stairs and stirrups for problems mnake certain the rods are not broken-they are impossible find from the sources i know and have been for several years
-cant think of much else to help you
best of luck
