I've got a few of the nice ones fromandel models but I can't see them on the site anymore.
Anyway they are bit delicate and the cats keep trashing them.
In in the process of building a new station with the Cain howley stuff I picked up at Steves.(b2b6)

So I'm looking for some platform lamps. Any suggestions on robust ones?

One of the lessons learned, in my more than twenty years of garden railroading, is that details are sometimes more work than they are worth. Depending on what type of layout you have, ground level or raised, details at ground level should be avoided in my opinion.

I have sold off all of my LGB lamp posts. Both the 5050 and 5055 type. I hope those numbers are correct. I toyed with the idea of building my own using CPVC tubing and LEDs. However I didn't like the look and have abandoned the experiment in favor of landscape lighting. I am experimenting with solar powered LED spotlights. They seem to be the answer to my lighting issue.

I still have lighted structures however.

As for figures, I came up with an idea last year of inserting 1/8" diameter magnets in the feet of my figures and gluing a small steel washer to the pavement around the buildings. Now I can easily remove the people for the winter, and if one gets knocked over, its a lot easier to stand it up again on the washer than to have to get out the hot glue gun.
