Both artefacts purchased from the National Railway Museum which I visited earlier this week.

As you leave the keys in the door Keith is it ok if we call around and empty your shed:rolf::rolf::rolf:
We will shut the gate on the way out

Preparation for the Open Day

With only 38 days to go I thought it was about time I did some work on the railway.
The extension which should have been opened last year will run along the viaduct when it has been completed and the lower area will be a new station.

Re:Preparation for the Open Day

It's looking good Keith

Re:Preparation for the Open Day

Preparation for the open day continues. As most of the work involves concrete, I've had to make the most of this rare dry day - although heavy rain is forecast this evening and over night.

The last viaduct pier has been cast.

Looking from the other side of the viaduct. The concrete in the middle section of the new station area has been made lower so that the Cain Howley station sections can be sunk below track level. I think they are a little high for a narrow gauge railway.

Zooming in shows clearly that the viaduct is on a steep gradient

Re:Preparation for the Open Day

The viaduct to bridge climb is sublime. really really like it. be interested to see a track plan/sketch

Re:Preparation for the Open Day

love that bridge, remind me to borrow it

Re:Preparation for the Open Day

Sore back ? Muscle ache ? bet you have but the end result will be worth it, looks like it will be a lovely railway when it's finished .:thumbup:

I don't think there will be any work done on the railway today!

A little moist today for working on the railway.

Very nice Keith!
Mizzy Gizzy wouldn't entertain the use of so much concrete in our garden though....

Less than 3 weeks to my open day

The gap in the viaduct has finally been closed and work has been done on both low level and high level platforms. The next jobs are to finish laying the track, finish painting the platforms and adding ballast. At this rate of progress trains will be running on the new extension in time for the open day.

Re:Less than 3 weeks to my open day

Looking very nice. Lots of hard work going on there, I like the dual level platforms.
