Scratch building coal cars

I don't have money for expenses sound systems . I found an app that has all the train sounds. And put a Bluetooth speaker in a car . And you control it from your phone. It's called train companion. 2.99$us. on Google play..

That's my kind of price! I have two speakers on my desk (they have been there for months) awaiting a sound edit but they aren't Bluetooth! I just cannot get my head around all this rapidly changing technology - I'm living proof that dinosaurs are not extinct!

I tried to upload a video of the sound system but it wouldn't let me file was too big. All you need is the small little cube Bluetooth speaker for sale on Amazon. They are like 10 dollars . And the app 2.99$ and a smart phone...

I a few of the msc big hustler switchers and this one I cut the back of the cab off. It will pull the cars . I need to weather the engine still.
just visited an old tramway (limestone) several weeks ago. Now a tourist railway. I walked part of the old formation towards the quarry, and looked closely at the various scrapped wagons. A full-size version of your wagon would have fit in perfectly when the limestone trains were working, just looks the part so well- congratulations.

your welcome.

I am a bit slow on many things. One of which is how to post pics from an Ipad onto GSC. If you or someone else can explain that in very straightforward steps, Id be happy to post some pics.

Alternative would be if you have a Facebook account and dont mind listing it here OR send a PM to my FB "Westbury, Osmaston and Quamby"
cheers

Testing posting a picture
Hi everyone. This is my first thread. I thought I would share some pictures of my coal cars. I am starting into g scale . My railroad is going to be on a tight budget. So I will be scratch building alot. My railroad will probably drive rivit counters crazy but I will enjoy it. I had some old trucks from some cheap new bright cars to start with

I like the look of those cars.

I have a Big Hustler and made some gravel skips for it, mine is battery R/C.
I hid all my batteries, motor driver and sound card (under controller) in the skips.
Attached pdf shows the skips, the motor controller is going to be replaced with a Pololu 18V7 controller shortly as the current one is not working the way that I like it to.
Looks great. I'm thinking of making mine battery powered also.
