Some new buildings for Beaver Creek

Wonderful scene Mike. You have been busy. Nice detailing and atmosphere. Any tips on places to get 1/18 - 1/20 scale boats ?
Max.

Hi Max

The boats that I have used are a quite of mix of scales.
I got most of them cheaply from Fleabay but I have a couple which are not in the pictures that I got from a local bric-a-brac furnishing store.

The trawler is probably more 'O' scale than 'G'
The wooden sailing dingy in the boathouse is about 1:24
The canoe (cast resin) is 1:24
The wooden boat to the left of the small fishing pier is actually 1:18 and looks too large really next to the others.

But it is the overall effect that allows a certain amount of mixing of scales
A 45 to 50ft foot trawler would be nigh on 2 foot long at 1:24 so a compromise had to be made........

Unbelievable detailing. How do you manage to find all those figures and other items?
Hi Greg
well I have collected a whole heap of figures through the years and have sometimes 'bashed' them a little to use them in different scenarios to those for which they were designed.
But mostly the ones in the harbour/quay scene are gleaned from Woodland scenics, Preiser, Life-like, Lemax, Supply Line and 'Plain Folk'.

The fish were from an angling set, all the other bits and bobs were from either ebay, scratch-made or just picked up at swap-meets and shows.

The crane was built form a white metal kit bought from Back 2 Basics and sits on a wooden plinth
