Street lights... again

tramcar trev

all manner of mechanical apparatus...
I was told by the supreme being that my street lights had "no presence" they look "cheap" she said. So I designed some with "REAL Presence".... Then went to make a silicone mould only to discover my brand new unopened tub had set in the jar :crying::crying::crying::crying:
Cest la Vie.....
These are "imposing" and "substantial".... Or rather they will be when I get some more rubber.....

They look great. Your machining skills (and patience) are excellent. I wish I had the ability to produce items like that.

Brilliant craftsmanship put me down for 10 please

Yes they LOOK god, but don't try and measure them they are done free hand as I don't have a dividing head or anything special....

That may very well be on the cards.... Inspired by a trip down memory lane I found some gorgeous cast iron bases and went home and made some of my own, in resin.... I may have a dozen or so of this original design to sell off...

One little glitch I did encounter was that the LED shines straight out through the top of the lamp and looks ridiculiculous. so I tried to think of ways to stop this as painting did not seem to work. I tried little alfoil reflectors on the top of each led, yes worked but what a job... ended up with putting a generous drop of aluminium pain into the bottom of the hole in the lens where the led sits sitting the lens on top of my warm modem to dry off the solvents; and this does the trick!!! Also discovered that to mask the lens so that when painting the lens remains clear it was far better to use liquid masking applied with a brush.... No bleed under like one gets at times with the tape method.
If anyone wants moulds to cast their own I can do that too....
