3 degree re-tilt Gav? ;) ;D ;D ;D

Too true! Even a pair of specs AND a magnifying glass don't always cut the mustard!

At 40 I was into "O" gauge and needed reading glasses. At 66 I am into "G" gauge and need reading glasses and sometimes a magnifying glass. The older I get, the bigger and heavier my trains get. But my muscles are going in reverse it seems.

Ditto

;D 'New' power supply system up and running, as planned above. Seems the in line fuse was unnecessary, as the power pack has something built in. It stops before the breaker blows when I short the track.

??? I have consulted with my Signals and Electrical offsider. The power pack 'protection' is faster acting than the circuit breaker. All is not lost, as I was doing 'short circuit' testing. What I will next try, is trying to draw more than 3A by getting as many possible pieces of motive power to run at the same time... the 3A circuit breaker 'should' blow when the draw is 3A+, but before the 4.9A rating of the power supply.

I've been using laptop power supplies for a while, run through a simple home made controller, and I like them. They give a good clean signal which our multi-pole motors seem to like. Bear in mind that the circuitry is designed to protect an expensive piece of technology (laptop) which has been placed in the hands of an idiot.

Grandaughter unearthered the family Playmobile collection. Didn't pay much attention to her, as I was 'working' at the other end of the railway. Wandered inside for a bite to eat, and found this 'TV crew filming accident' scene. Rather creative for an 8 year old.

>:( I have a rather ruthless policy when it comes to plants that don't perform... they get the chop. One of my trees that had twin trunks, developed a case of permanent brown leaf syndrome, so, zap, gone, outa here. Blessing in disguise actually, opened up a new photo opportunity. 8)

'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot TREE is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker!
'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch GROUND 'e'd be pushing up the daisies!
'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! TWIGS ARE OFF
'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!!
THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!! TREE!!!

Ah yes, my favorite problem solver. When in doubt, rip it out!

A variation. - For electronics problem solving..
"If in doubt, short it out!"
:o :o ;) :D ;D

8) Back in action... me, that is, oh, and the railway too. Some virus similar to the pneumonia one I got last winter. Boy can the weeds grow in the sub tropical climate we have. All day gardening now the warm summer has returned, topped of with this gratuitous shot of a well patronised cable car in this evening's sunshine.

Seasons greetings to you all.

Got a bouncy two-legged model marsup today for Xmas from No1D for the K&NWLR and could help think of those on the other half of the planet. :)

:) Father Christmas brought me a new digital multi meter. Came in handy today when a train just stopped in the original loop..... ah, rail joiners and track power have finally caught up with me. No. For a while, I had been getting intermittent voltage drop in that section, which has a DPDT switch to control the reverse loop function. Turns out, the switch was crook. Biffed it away, and jumped the wires (to get things going, as one does). Multi meter check shows no voltage drop in that section any more... so it was the switch. Good job that the electronics folks have now opened a branch locally. Tomorrow, it's new switch, installation, and back to 'normal' operation, reverse loops and all.
