Here a selection of photos from the recent snow running session
Clearing the way with back to back stainz loco, this was found to be the most effective method, as when the lead stainz got stuck in a snow drift, the other would usually free the pair
The line starting to clear
A passenger train was even run in the snow
The bridge seemed more like a snow filled cutting, but the locos made it through
The large bogie freight vans were pressed into service for an emergency freight train
And finally a stainz was persuaded to pose in the snow for photos
I thought about running 2 Stainz too but with both cabs outwards, however the snow first started falling in the middle of the night foiling my plan. Perhaps next time , top marks for determination & spirit
brilliant photos of your stainz in the snow ,as a stainz nut myself good to see they run well in all weathers . never thought of back to back I must spray up 2 of my stainz to run in that way ( good excuse to build another plough)

Despite the cold, I managed a little bit of work- Namely,
finalised the station track layout as seen in the far distance,
Sorted out the passing loop arrangement
sorted out the nice wandering curves
and started to plan out the far end terminus.
Heres a piccy at the end of the day
The curves are a mixture of r5 double and single curves and all the points are r3
Dan, there is no doubt that since you have changed to the Larger Rad Points and Curves your line is beginning to look more believable as a Railway. Well done RHB for helping you see the light and you for listening. Plus of course bending you credit card. You could always flog the surplus R1 Points here. The Curves can be made better by remodeling them. It has been posted on this site somewhere how to do this.

Heres a few more snow photos, there not from the current snow but the previous snowfall.
I just had not got round to posting them.
Due to the snow it was decided to run an additional train of heating oil to ensure that the locoal residents were all nice and warm in there houses.
For this job it was decided to use the diesel loco as the crew and expressed some objections and wanted a more weather resistant cab.
And so the train cosisting of oil tankers, 2 barrier wagons and a brakevan was formed up and despatched
The train rounds the curve- strangely the brakevan is at the wrong end
Having unloaded The train then starts to head home, having left the brakevan behind to due problems
The train rounds the bend
And on the final leg having also left the barrier vehicles at a station as there were not needed for the empty tankers.
Track plan has been tweaked, and the pink gravel/ballast has been extended. There has been a few small scenic tweaks in places but are awaiting photos.
