Hi Folks,

We visited the Soar Valley Garden Railway this week and here's the little video. We had a great time with friends and playing trains in the garden. What could be better! You must go if you are in the area! They have a cafe, shop and gallery as well!

Very nice little attraction and a neat ly prepared video.
I note that events are free. I wonder if HIT Entertainments would want their licencing fee if TTTE is used commercially - I'll bet they would.

I really love this video. You've captured the essence of a beautiful English countryside garden which has been created with a sense of fun to be a wonderland for children and adults alike. The video's got great pace and imaginative camera angles. In my opinion this is what garden railwaying is all about - having enjoyment and not taking the hobby too seriously.
A triumph of the videographer's art. Absolutely brilliant.

Events have always been free, to be honest we'd never really thought of charging for them. The railway, and G Scale is a passion and it's something we've always wanted to pass on to visiting children (and adults) so I doubt we'd ever charge. We've always been very excited when a parent or child has come to tell us they've been so excited by driving our trains that they've been bought a train set whether it's 00, G, or even Brio.

That said we're stockists of Officially Licenced Thomas Books, Toys, Gifts, Tableware, Postcards etc etc. Ironically the only thing we're not stockists of is G Scale Thomas... but that's not for want of trying! You can buy a PIKO G Scale Starter Set from an Art Gallery... but not a Bachmann...

Very nice. I noticed that the coaches Emily was pulling did not have the center wheel set. I wonder if they are the original Bachmann coaches that have been modified or something entirely different ?

The coaches were modified. Centre wheels and all mouldings removed. The coaches were unreliable runners before removal of the centre wheels. They now run superbly.

Hi, Thanks for the post and glad you liked the video. We had a great day with our G Scale friends playing trains in the wonderful Soar Valley Garden Railway. Tony has done an amazing job at converting Bachmann's Emily and coaches to radio controlled battery power and adding all the extra features to turn the loco into a brilliant GNR G3 Stirling Single. He has removed the centre wheels on his coaches which we have found can bind on tight curves with ours. Pine Tree Junction also has an Emily and coaches which we have left as bought. Here's one of our videos of her running on our garden railway.

A wonderful video and layout and idea. Free of charge though it is, I should think it brings plenty of business in anyway.

Emily looks superb, and there is such an interesting and wide range of rolling stock and accessories.

I shall add it to the sat-nav as a point of interest.
