Need more info Les.........

Hi Ross the shed would contain saw benches for cutting trunks in half and then into planks and any other items of a woodshop. I have got rails for trucks, and need men to man the shed too I have seen a welding set on some layouts Les

If it helps, I made a saw-bench out of old pieces of rubberised window blinds (balsa wood do, if for indoors), and used the middle of a sewing needle wheel to make the blade itself.

Hopefully this time with picture!

Hi Les
My saw mill has a few benches and cutting stages. It also has a one armed guy who seems to have just had an accident at one of the saw stages......
Some of the photos were taken before the mill was placed on the layout

Brilliant - what figures do you use? I've struggled to find some in suitable poses...

Les, Don't be disheartened - a good imagination and a HUGE junk box helps!

Hi Chris and Les
In the sawmill I used Preiser, Woodland Scenics, Life-like and a couple of LGB figures.
They are just put to a different use than they were first intended.

Totally agree with Chris about using odds and ends, there are also tons of pictures to help out there . There are a lots of examples done by modellers (some in other scales..O scale is good to copy with a bit of upscaling) in magazines, like 'Narrow Gauge Gazette' or back issues of 'Garden railways' to inspire and give ideas.

The only things, besides wood strip that you need, are pulleys, rubber bands and a motor (if you want to make the saws spin) and a couple of miniature saw blades (easily available on ebay).

John (JRinTawa) recently built a saw mill that is very fine.

You know you can do it!

here are a couple of websites to help
