sharpcreative Did you need to seal or prime any of the wood before painting?
I intend using acrylics but I wonder if they would lift the grain?

Thanks for all the info.

I could see that CMB didn't stock the Occré pin-pusher but never thought to look for others on the site.

Just as well because, I now realise that I already have a suitable one hidden somewhere in the workshop!
I daren't look too closely at CMBs bits 'n bobs, I come away with too many of them. It really is a goldmine of oddments and as you say, very helpful.

Hi Nigel
I would appreciate some advice please: I have just commenced building the Occré Adler kit but I have come across a snag. There is insufficient room on the turned ends of the axles for all the components ie 2 sets of spokes and 2 sets of rings.
Did you have this problem?
See attached pics.
I could just squeeze a second set of spokes onto the axle although it would end up recessed.
Does it matter if the second, internal, ring isn`t used?
The assembly is out of sight behind the frame.

just to update progress on the titfield trio, have completed dans coach and halfway thru the 1400 loco. had it running on the bench, just need the bodywork and pony wheels to finish. struggled to make a decent oscillator motor so bought a mamod one for twenty quid and shoehorned it in with some gears. roughly 3 to 1 ratio should keep the speed down. mart
