Picture as published in GR showing the effect of one pass of the Track Cleaning Loco across a set of points - the cleaning is readily apparent!

Hang on a minit ! Mine is ok, but it isn't that good !
I would have to run mine for ages before it would give me a perfectly clean rail head
[and thats with a new abrasive wheel]
What sort of cleaning results does everyone else get ?

Zebra stripe.
I vary the loco speed and sometimes run it t'other way to even out the banding.
If the stripe persists it means that the abrasive wheels are worn so far that the plastic discs are bouncing on the chairs! That is when the plastic begins to de-laminate and winds itself around the axles and bearings.

Four or five loops around and my track looks like that except on the grade where it bouces and i get the zebra effect, I am going to try reversing the motor direction like Steve in Denver did that will stop the striping

Run it at minimum forward speed and have patience!

or

-run it full tilt, and then reverse direction and do it again

while you enjoy your favorite drink or two-that way both your hands and mind will be occupied:bigsmile:
