I also bought this LGB Pennsylvania 210 Model Steam Locomotive 2-4-0 G Gauge with Tender, as the sound not work with my one
Still a lot of money for a none runner with unknown pedigree.

I would contend that putting money into one good loco is my preferred to buying cheaper locos and making something work. Usually, by the time you have done or paid for the work to get what you want, you have paid for a better Loco.

Some people like the Bachmann stuff, not for me though. After having worked on LGB / PIKO / Aristocraft / Trainline45 / Bachmann locos, Bachmann comes out bottom and after my Thomas experience, my workshop is now a Bachmann free zone :D

The LGB moguls (I'm suggesting as this is the style you seem to be going for) can be had with a sound decoder fitted for something like £550. Plop it on the track, sound, smoke, smiley face.

I began with those two self-same locos, secondhand. Great for inspiration and operating and over time, each has been well used, abused and eventually turned into something else.

it is all about value for money , you get what you pay for, to many people want to make money not happy to get what it is worth , I happy with I have.
