Does anyone knows here a good website for how to build a turntable in G scale ? I have to build one at least 80 cm dia
to tun a bigboy 1/29.
Thx![]()
If you are tempted to buy the Pola version that Gizzy mentions, just beware that they need a LOT of work and modifications to get them to work reliably (especially outdoors). Don't ask me how I know! :wits::wits::crying::crying:Gizzy said:If I was to build one that big, I would start with a length of glavanised electrical tray.
The only large turntables I have ever seen are commercially produced items like the Pola one....

Good idea. I thought of doing that, but perhaps with track and power bogies from a smaller guage. Never did try it.mmts said:Just an idea so dont all laugh...............
Why not lay a circle of R1 track then mount a lenght of Gizzys electrical trunking on a pair of bogies?? Or if you want it electric mount it on a pair of power trucks??![]()
Yes, if the loco is as big and heavy as Neil suggests, that sounds like a great idea.Cliff George said:Good idea. I thought of doing that, but perhaps with track and power bogies from a smaller guage. Never did try it.mmts said:Just an idea so dont all laugh...............
