USA Trains SD40-2

Does anyone know how to remove the hood or otherwise disassemble a USA Trains SD40-2? I've removed all the screws that are accessible from the bottom, but the hood still won't come off. There seems to be nothing on this topic on the web apart from instructions to service the trucks and couplers. Thanks.

If ALL the screws are unscrewed then it should just separate easily.
Not sure if you have removed them all but there should be about 16 screws.
There are the obvious ones which can be seen easily and then there are the ones partially or fully hidden.
There are screws under the bogie which are accessed by slightly turning the bogie. There are screws under the speaker pod (which has to be removed to access them)

Thanks guys much appreciated. I had already removed all the screws shown in the photo of the underside in the German link, apart from the two right at the rear of the loco. On my SD40, unbelievably, these do not exist! I have shone a torch under the rear truck, moved the rear truck from side to side and was amazed to find....nothing! Just flat plastic, no screw holes. I think USA Trains must have changed the attachment of the rear of the hood. Thanks anyway guys.

I know this is not maybe going to be much help but when I recently needed to dismantle my Stainz, I know, not quite the same thing, I had taken out every screw to be seen, following advice posted from others, and the motor block and body would not come apart. Eventually, I resorted to the age old method and found that by gently, gently I said, tapping the block away from the body with a light hammer and small chisel, and slowly the two bits came apart. They'd just been mated together for a very long time. OK OK, sorry

This may not help, but when I was taking apart a USAT GP38 a few years ago, I had extreme difficulty disengaging the front of the loco, because there was some sort of interlock between the cab, the bit under the cab and the chassis. I can't remember the full details, sorry. But it was rather like one of those puzzles where you have to slide all the parts together in the right order to make a shape.

may be of interest to you but theres a german chap modifying one of thes on

mylargescale.com in the model making section
