I create the holes using a pin and then twist in some graphite from a pencil then I add a small drop water to each hole to swell it back to its normal state leaving just a trace of the pencil mark behind.

This composition meant that I would have to widen the width of the base which I didn't want to do as it was too big already and would the composition square which I wanted to avoid.

Lovely work, and really captures the film's ambience.
One of my favorites. I think it works on several levels for me. While almost US like in props, etc., it creates a wonderul, believable characature of the myth. I always enjoy watching it.

Its been a while, and i havent studied it , as im sure you have, but i seem to recall european rolling stock modified to look mexican or US?

You right Steve.Leone took a lot of heat for this but in the end who really cared when it became one of the best movies of all time.
They also criticized the latest Lone Ranger movie for its minor inaccuracies but I bet it will be like Leone's movie, they will be studying it in film school soon.
